* 聖母マリアが２０世紀後半に第三次世界大戦が始まると言われたとするファティマ秘密の３番目 （訳注・＝「第３の秘密」） についてのオッタビアーニ枢機卿（すうききょう）の解釈（かいしゃく）を私たちはどうして真剣（しんけん）に受け取れるだろうか？ ２０００年はすでに来て過ぎ去（すぎさ）ってしまったが，第三次世界大戦など起（お）きなかった． （ * How can we take seriously Cardinal Ottaviani’s version of the third part of the Fatima Secret when supposedly Our Lady says there that a third World war will start in the latter part of the 20th century ? *第二次世界大戦ではドレスデン，東京，長崎に対しぞっとするような空襲が行われた．ここで新しいこととは何か？ （ * In WW II we saw horrific bombings of Dresden, Tokyo, Nagasaki. What will be new here ? ） 第二次世界大戦中の死者数合計（ししゃすう ごうけい）は数億（すうおく）という中（なか）から，普通は約６,６００万人と見なされています（ "Total WW II deaths are reckoned usually at some 66 million, in the tens of millions." ）．聖母マリアが，ファティマだけでなく，ほかでも発せられた諸々（もろもろ）の警告（けいこく）を正（ただ）しく読（よ）めば（ "If one reads rightly several warnings of Our Lady, and not only in Fatima, …" ），第二次世界大戦と（訳注・人類による「神と神の掟（おきて）に対する反逆（はんぎゃく）」という重い罪〈おもい つみ〉に対する）神の懲罰（ちょうばつ）による犠牲者数（ぎせいしゃ すう）は数千億（すうせんおく）とみられ，百倍（ひゃくばい）を超（こ）えます（ "… casualties from WW III and the Chastisement will be reckoned in the thousands of millions.
